MISSION VIEJO : Record 984 To Get Saddleback Degrees
A record number of degrees will be handed out to students Friday during graduation ceremonies at Saddleback College.
A total of 984 students will receive two-year degrees in the associate in arts and associate in science programs, the largest number conferred by the college in its 25-year history.
Last year 955 students received degrees.
The annual commencement ceremony starts at 6:30 p.m. in the college gymnasium, 28000 Marguerite Parkway in Mission Viejo.
The graduation speaker this year is Nancy Y. Bekavac, president of Scripps College in Pomona. Eleven valedictorians will also be honored during the ceremony.
A broadcast of the ceremony will be aired on Dimension Cable Channel 39 from 7 to 9 p.m. on May 26.
