Group Unfair to McDonald’s
I am appalled at the complaints that have been directed at the new McDonald’s restaurant on Yosemite Avenue in Simi Valley. Citizens for a Safe and Scenic Simi Valley claim that the restaurant will bring noise, crime and traffic problems into their neighborhood.
The only reason that they are giving McDonald’s problems is because they failed to overturn the decision by the Planning Commission. So they decide to harass McDonald’s about the Ronald McDonald balloon that was on top of the restaurant, and about the “Now Open” sign. Well, in order to do good business, a restaurant has to promote itself, and that’s all McDonald’s is doing. The group says that it’s concerned for the city. From what I have heard, the community of Simi Valley doesn’t care if it’s there or not.
We should be thanking McDonald’s for bringing more jobs to Simi Valley, which means more money and more recognition to the city, which Simi Valley really needs.
