OXNARD : Death Penalty Sought for Murder Suspect

Share

An Oxnard man accused of raping and killing an Oxnard mother of four should die in the gas chamber if convicted of the crime, Dist. Atty. Michael D. Bradbury said Tuesday.

The district attorney’s office will seek the death penalty against Christopher James Sattiewhite, 23, who already is serving a 21-year state prison sentence on an unrelated rape conviction, Bradbury said Tuesday.

Sattiewhite is accused of raping Genoveva Gonzales and shooting her three times in the head before dumping her body in a drainage ditch southeast of Oxnard in January, 1992.
