Pleasant Valley School District Seeks Gifts
The Pleasant Valley Elementary School District in Camarillo is seeking donations to purchase items ranging from basketball backboards to bookshelves for the district’s 13 schools.
After a school-by-school survey, district officials compiled a wish list of more than 50 items and repairs needed at various sites, Assistant Supt. Howard Hamilton said.
The list includes musical instruments, classroom furniture, carpeting and electrical-wiring work.
District officials found that three items are needed at virtually every school: white boards for classroom instruction, basketball backboards and sturdy picnic tables for the lunch areas, Hamilton said.
School officials will accept donations of the items. But, Hamilton said, donations of money would be easiest.
For information or to make a donation, call Hamilton at 482-2763.
