Whoopee (AMC Sunday at 4 p.m., Monday at midnight). Artistically, this 1930 two-color Technicolor film of Eddie Cantor’s Broadway hit is atrocious, but as virtually a filmed play it does give an idea of what a late Roaring ‘20s musical comedy was like.

Drowning by Numbers (Cinemax Thursday at 4:25 a.m.) Not as dynamic or provocative as other films by England’s always audacious and often-brilliant Peter Greenaway, this eccentric 1991 release is superficially an ironic comedy of crime, involving three generations of women (Joan Plowright, Juliet Stevenson, Joely Richardson) intent on doing away with their husbands.

Theater of Blood (TNT Thursday at 7 p.m.) A triumph of stylish, witty Grand Guignol, this 1973 horror classic allows Vincent Price to range richly between humor and pathos as a crazed Shakespearean actor who exacts revenge against London drama critics for denying him a best actor award.
