Police Identify Man Found Dead
A man found dead in a vacant lot near the Waterfront Hilton at Huntington Beach was identified Wednesday as Alvin Bennett Hill.
Police Lt. Charles R. Poe said Hill was a transient with no known address. The victim was identified through a computerized fingerprinting network.
“We won’t know how he died until we get a coroner’s report, but until then we are treating it as a homicide,” Poe said. “We do not think he died there--he was apparently carried there.”
Hill, 45, was found Tuesday in the employee parking lot by an employee at the hotel.
Officer Mike Corcoran said investigators are looking for relatives and asking anyone who may have seen the victim before he died to call Detective Steve Mack at (714) 536-5607.
