Dear, you didn’t happen to see that flyer I pasted on the bathroom mirror this morning, did you? The one for the “Time of Your Life Expo,” this weekend in Pomona?

It’s a weekend of seminars, events and exhibits for people over 50, just like us.

I know this first week of retirement has been a bit of an adjustment for you.

No, honey, I like the way you reorganized the cupboards. I’m just not used to finding cat food where the fruit cocktail used to be.

Maybe it would be nice to go to the expo at the Los Angeles County Fairplex this weekend. There will be all sorts of seminars on financial planning, health insurance, health screenings.

Sweetheart, I REALLY DON’T THINK YOU NEED TO VACUUM THE BOOKS. WILL YOU TURN THAT OFF? I’M TRYING TO TALK to you. Thank you.

Anyway, it would be fun for us to get out. Ed McMahon will be making an appearance on Saturday. He’s just the host of “Star Search.” I’m

sure he had nothing to do with what’s her name, Tiffany, losing the spokesmodel competition.

Well, Anne Jeffreys, the actress, and Monty Hall, from “Let’s Make a Deal,” will be there on Sunday. And on Monday, KABC Talkradio’s Ray Briem will be there. There will be entertainment too, and all of the performers are over 50.

Wouldn’t it be fun to get out of the house more often? We could travel, maybe you could find a few new hobbies, sweetheart.

Well, to be honest, darling, I think a hobby or two would be just the ticket. And no, I can’t say re-pleating the drapes would be all that enthralling.

Expo hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Monday at the Fairplex, at White and McKinley avenues. Admission is only $6.

Please, dearest, for us. I really don’t want to spend my retirement watching you wax a no-wax floor.
