Turner Looks at Expansion Overseas: Turner Broadcasting System Inc. said it is exploring opportunities to buy television stations in Russia and Eastern Europe. Ted Turner, chairman and chief executive, said the firm made a $3-million “start-up” investment in a Moscow television station in January to broadcast the company’s huge movie library and CNN International News. He confirmed reports that the company is negotiating a joint venture with each of the three major U.S. networks to broadcast the 1996 Olympics. Turner dismissed recent reports that the company is on the verge of a breakup.
