Share

About 700 residents have signed up to vote Friday in the first election of a town council for the unincorporated county area near Monrovia, Duarte and Arcadia.

Nine residents will compete for seven seats on the newly created town council, which will represent the area’s 11,000 residents before the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Organizers say the council will help inform residents about county programs and community problems.
