Man Files Lawsuit Against Restaurant

A San Fernando Valley man who claims he was beaten by two employees at a Malibu area restaurant last year is suing the company and the workers in Ventura County Superior Court.

Todd Sangster suffered a concussion, possible permanent brain damage, head injuries, nerve damage and other ailments at the hands of Juan Montes and Dionisio Corral during an unprovoked barroom attack at Neptune’s Net on June 17, 1992, the suit alleges.

The restaurant and bar, located at 42505 Pacific Coast Highway near the Los Angeles County line, caters to a “punk rock/motorcycle/biker crowd,” the suit said.

Sangster was “minding his own business” when the two employees struck him “about the head, face, arms and chest with their clenched fists and kicked and stomped plaintiff repeatedly,” the suit claims.

Neptune’s Net co-owner Michelle Lee on Tuesday declined to comment on the lawsuit. She did say that Montes still works for her, but that Corral quit some time ago.

Among other things, the suit asks for general and punitive damages of $100,000 or more, court costs, lost earnings and medical expenses of more than $10,000.
