Oxnard police have arrested two men suspected of robbing three stores at gunpoint late Sunday night.

The suspects, Salalau Paul Sega, 21, and Daniel Young, 22, both of Oxnard, were booked into County Jail on suspicion of three counts of armed robbery. They were being held Monday on $20,000 bond and are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.

According to police, the string of robberies began at the 7-Eleven market at 2201 E. Channel Islands Blvd., around 10:40 p.m. Sunday. Two men held up the clerk at gunpoint and stole a 12-pack of beer.

Police said the pair then tried to take cash from a clerk at the USA Gas station at 5040 Saviers Road. But when the clerk stayed inside a protective booth and refused to give them money, police said the men stole some food and left.

In the third robbery, the men robbed a Circle K market at 2323 N. Oxnard Blvd., and fled with cash. The pair was seen leaving the area in a blue Chevrolet El Camino that had also been seen at the USA station, police said.

The suspects were arrested around midnight Sunday after Oxnard Sgt. Cliff Troy spotted the car near the intersection of Ventura Road and Devonshire Drive. Inside the car, officers said they found money and a loaded gun.
