Los Angeles police were searching Sunday for suspects in a shooting at a North Hills party that left a 19-year-old Lake View Terrace man dead and three other people injured, one critically.

Christopher Walker died from a bullet wound to the upper torso about midnight after several shots were fired during the party in the back yard of a house in the 10200 block of Woodley Avenue, Detective Tom Broad of the LAPD said.

Also wounded in the shooting were Raymond Padilla, 19, of Sylmar, Regina Grant, 20, of Pacoima and Alejandro Diaz, 19, of Sylmar. Padilla was hospitalized in critical condition with a bullet wound to the abdomen, Broad said. Grant, who was shot in the hip, and Diaz, shot in the arm, were treated at nearby hospitals and released.

Broad did not know the motive for the shooting, but said it may have been sparked by a dispute between party-goers. “There may have been some sort of fight taking place,” he said.
