From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Ford Recalls Escorts, Probes, Tracers: The auto maker said it is recalling about 105,300 of the cars under two separate actions. The first recall--involving 101,400 Ford Escorts and Mercury Tracers from the 1991 model year--is to replace roll pins in the ignition lock. The lock cylinder could move out of place, causing the steering wheel to lock and possibly cause an accident. Also being recalled are 3,900 1993-model Ford Probes to replace a pivot pin that could cause the rear hatch to drop and close suddenly. About 100 cars may have the defective pins. Ford Motor Co. said it knows of no accidents or injuries related to either of the recalls.
