GARDEN GROVE : Street Construction Will Affect Traffic

Share

Because of construction, motorists can expect to hit slow-moving traffic on Garden Grove Boulevard between Brookhurst and Euclid streets from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting July 12.

City officials recommend using alternate routes to avoid congestion during the six-week construction period.

Only one lane in each direction will be open, and no parking on the street will be allowed, said City Engineer Bill Patapoff.

“Good alternate routes would be to take Lampson or Chapman (avenues) if you’re headed north or Trask Avenue or the (Garden Grove) Freeway if you’re headed south,” he said.

Because Garden Grove Boulevard is a heavily traveled route, Patapoff said, delays of 10 minutes or more are expected.

The $465,110 project to replace the street’s deteriorating asphalt and base materials will be paid for by federal and city funds.
