Man, 27, Fatally Shot in Van Nuys
Two gunmen woke a 27-year-old Van Nuys man early Monday morning and then fatally shot him, Los Angeles police said.
Amador Garcia was asleep in his apartment in the 13400 block of Vanowen Street when he was awakened about 5 a.m. by his assailants, one of whom shot him, Sgt. Michael Klein said. Garcia was taken to Holy Cross Hospital Medical Center where he died a short time later.
The gunmen fled on foot, Klein said. A motive for the slaying remained undetermined Monday evening.
