It’s a Magic Show: 56 Points in Charity Game
Magic Johnson scored 56 points Friday to lead the NBA All-Stars to a 165-164 victory over the Collegiate All-Stars in the Magic Johnson All-Star Classic.
Johnson, who played at Michigan State, put on a show before 8,532 at the Breslin Center. He scored the last eight points for his team, including a wraparound underhanded lay-in. Johnson also had 12 rebounds and 16 assists.
Chris Webber, the former Michigan standout and No. 1 NBA draft pick, led the college team with 27 points, 14 rebounds and five assists.
The game turned into a shooting match between Webber and Johnson, with Webber putting on a dunk show and Johnson making several skyhooks.
Proceeds from the game go the Magic Johnson-Greg Kelser scholarship fund at Michigan State.
