Toddler Drowns in Pool
An 18-month-old Diamond Bar boy drowned in his family’s back-yard pool Sunday morning, despite efforts by his father and fire paramedics to resuscitate him, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies.
Kurtis Beatey’s father pulled the boy from the pool after he fell in about 11 a.m., said deputies at the sheriff’s station in Walnut. He performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the child until Los Angeles County paramedics arrived and took over.
The toddler was flown by helicopter to San Dimas Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
