ANAHEIM : Driver Dies as Car Hits Parked Truck

A Costa Mesa man was killed early Thursday when he apparently drove his car beneath the trailer of a parked semitrailer truck, Anaheim police said.

Ricardo Rodriguez, 28, was driving north in the 1900 block of South West Street about 4:25 a.m. when he crashed into the back of the truck, which is owned by an Indiana trucking company, police said. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two drivers of the truck, whose names were not released by police, had parked about 1:25 a.m. and were sleeping inside when the accident occurred. They were not injured.
