Bill Medley’s Music City, a nightclub owned by one of the famed Righteous Brothers, is being sold, the club’s manager said Friday.

The new owner, whose name was not disclosed, is expected to take over Sept. 1 if the deal goes through, manager Darlene Martin said. In the meantime, the club will continue with its regular performances and events based on vintage rock ‘n’ roll and blues.

The club, on Brookhurst Street in Fountain Valley, had been offered for sale at $200,000. Martin said she does not know the terms of the actual sale agreement. Owner Bill Medley was touring Friday and unavailable for comment.

The 3,300-square-foot club, which employs about 30 people, was formerly called the Righteous Brothers’ Hop and, later, Medley’s. Last year, the club briefly tried a mix of country music and rock, but it returned to rock ‘n’ roll oldies when the new mix failed to attract patrons.

“We’re still going to continue doing rock ‘n’ roll,” Martin said.
