One motorcyclist was killed and two others riding a second cycle were seriously injured Saturday when the first motorcycle drifted across the center divider and collided with a moving van, said California Highway Patrol officers.

The victim, an unidentified 57-year-old San Bernardino man, drifted across the yellow line on a curved section of the Pearblossom Highway and slammed head-on into the truck. The man’s body bounced off the van and struck the driver of the second motorcycle, said CHP Officer Susan Seruga. The crash occurred shortly before 8 p.m. about 20 miles east of Palmdale, Seruga said.

The driver of the second motorcycle, a 44-year-old Highland man who also was not identified, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital, Seruga said. His passenger, a 38-year-old woman also from Highland, was taken to Palmdale Hospital Medical Center. She suffered major injuries in the crash, Seruga said.
