Ricky Watters and the San Francisco 49ers ended days of haggling Sunday when they settled on a two-year contract for the Pro Bowl running back. Watters missed 12 days of training camp but said he had worked out constantly during the holdout.


The New Orleans Saints agreed to terms with Notre Dame tight end Irv Smith, the second of their two first-round draft choices.
