United Airlines to Operate Cuba Shuttle: The Chicago-based carrier has entered into a contract to operate charter flights between Miami and Havana. The contract is with ABC Charters of Miami, which is in the process of obtaining flight approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation. Initial plans call for United to make two weekly flights between Miami and Havana beginning Aug. 17, using Boeing 737-300 twin-engine jets carrying 128 passengers.
