VILLA PARK : Loma Street Closure Extended a Month

Motorists waiting to use Loma Street, which has been closed for the past two months, will have to continue using alternate routes for another month.

Utility companies have been making underground gas, water, telephone and electricity improvements on Loma Street, from Crest De Ville to Mesa Drive. Work crews, however, need more time to complete several projects, including the removal of a gas main, replacement of a storm drain system and installation of new main valves for water service.

The improvements on Loma Street are a small part of a $9.7-million project to build a 1.6-mile road that will link Imperial Highway in Anaheim Hills with Loma Street in Orange, creating an alternate route to the Riverside-Costa Mesa freeway interchange.
