MARKETING AND MEDIA : Paine & Associates Celebrates Work Force Status, Passes the Bucks

Costa Mesa public relations agency Paine & Associates found a meaningful way to celebrate its status as the biggest in its category, according to a recently published industry list.
David Paine, president, came around with a briefcase and handed 100 $1 bills to each of his 32 employees.
The agency was ranked tops in the number of public relations employees in the county by the Orange County Business Journal. Five years ago, it was 23rd on the list.
The agency has benefited by winning a couple of big clients, Taco Bell Inc. and Allergan Optical, both based in Irvine.
Paine said the company had 1992 revenue of $2.1 million.
