Bear Is Captured After Odd Feast at Kitchen Sink
A black bear that feasted on grapes, Mexican food and silver polish was captured after returning for more.
Dick Jones, 63, a retired auctioneer, said he found a bear Monday with its head in the kitchen sink, munching on grapes. The bear apparently had climbed into the kitchen through an open window.
Jones said he and his wife, Ginger, 58, a retired schoolteacher, went to their nearby motor home and called the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. “They informed us to get . . . out of the house,” Jones said.
The bear was gone by the time authorities arrived, so wildlife officials set a trap baited with melons.
