Statordyne Appoints Its 6th Director

* Kenneth A. Ruck has been appointed to the board of Statordyne Corp., an Anaheim manufacturer of products for the power service industries, bringing the number of directors to six. Ruck is president, chief operating officer and a member of the board of PEAC Corp., which operates the Pete Ellis Auto Center in Costa Mesa.

* James D. Orefice has been appointed chief operating officer for Urethane Technologies Inc. in Irvine. Before joining the company, he was with Arco Chemical Co. for 11 years, most recently as business manager for Asia Pacific. Before that, Orefice worked for Mobay Chemical Corp. In addition, Donald H. Killmer was appointed director of engineering. He joined the company in April after being at Dow Chemical Co. for seven years. He has also worked at Upjohn Co.’s polymer chemicals division in technical services and at Ford Motor Co.

* Harold McGraw III has been named president and chief operating officer of McGraw-Hill Inc., a position second only to that held by Chairman and Chief Executive Joseph L. Dionne. McGraw, 44, is the great-grandson of the founder of the financial information services company. He emerged as Dionne’s heir-apparent last year when he was given full responsibility for all of the company’s operations after sharing that role for about three years with another executive. The other executive resigned. Dionne has held the title of president since 1981 and has served as president, chairman and chief executive since April, 1988. Dionne, 59, has given no indication that he plans to step down any time soon.
