THOUSAND OAKS : Seaver Appointed to Calleguas Board
Bill Seaver, the former head of Thousand Oaks schools, has been appointed to the board of the Calleguas Municipal Water District to replace longtime board member and former Oxnard Mayor Carl Ward.
Seaver, 63, applied for the post and was selected by the four sitting board members at a meeting Thursday night, said Eric Bergh, the district’s project administrator.
Ward, 81, retired as the district’s senior board member in June after serving on the board since 1963, Bergh said. Seaver was expected to take his seat on the panel at the next regular meeting Sept. 1, he said.
“The future of our county depends on our water supply and Calleguas plays a major role in it,” Seaver said. “It’s going to be very exciting.”
