LOS ALAMITOS : School District Seeks Task Force Members

Community members are invited to apply for positions on the Los Alamitos Unified School District’s task force for long-range planning, which will attempt to identify and address critical issues to help the district educate youth in the next century.

The task force will be composed of about 20 people, representing the geographical areas that comprise the district: Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Seal Beach and Leisure World. Teachers, classified employees, administrators and members of the Board of Education will also sit on the committee.

The committee will meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month from October to April.

Members will be selected based on a balance of background and professional experience and involvement in the community. Applications are available at the district’s office, 10293 Bloomfield St., Los Alamitos, and are due by 4 p.m. Sept. 17.

The community representatives selected for the task force will be announced at the Oct. 4 school board meeting.
