Britain’s Paul Page used a drop after a five-hour rain delay to put a 60-foot bunker shot within two feet of the hole Friday to seal a 2-and-1 victory over Tiger Woods of Cypress in the second round of match play at the U.S. Amateur Championships at Houston.

Because of rain, the third round and quarterfinals will be today, with the semifinals on Sunday and the 36-hole final on Monday.

Just before the delay, Page’s ball had been stuck in the sand trap on No. 17. When the players returned to the 7,148-yard Cypress Creek Course at Champions Golf Club, Page was given a new lie and was able hit his match-saving shot from the trap.
