OUTLOOK The Spartans are down a little this season, but they do have Pearsall. He should be enough to keep them in most games. Pearsall gained 1,090 yards and scored 16 touchdowns last season despite playing on an injured foot half the season. He nearly beat Los Alamitos single-handedly with a 226-yard, four-touchdown performance. The Spartans lost, 28-27, to the Griffins, then the county’s No. 1-ranked team. McMahon, who moves from wide receiver to quarterback, will need to take the pressure off Pearsall.
