OUTLOOK
The Aztecs, the defending Division II co-champions, lost a lot, namely offensive/defensive lineman Travis Kirschke (UCLA) and three other offensive linemen. But finding linemen has never been much of a problem at Esperanza. The school churns them out. If the blocking is there, Footman will have a big year. He gained more than 1,000 yards last season in a part-time role. He’ll get the ball more this season. Defensively, there are three returning players in the secondary. The pass rushing will be led by linebacker Stewart, who had 10 sacks.
