City Clerk Katherine M. Hollywood submitted her resignation this week, effective Friday.
Hollywood, a Vista resident who has been on maternity leave for four months, gave notice of her resignation in a letter to the City Council on Monday. Her leave was due to expire Friday, which will now be her last day at work.
Hollywood could not be reached for comment.
Hollywood’s resignation comes while the City Council is reassessing all 26 city staff positions and adding an economic development director. Eight finalists for the development director job were interviewed this week with the council’s choice expected to be announced Sept. 14.
Hollywood was hired as an assistant city clerk in July, 1989. She became city clerk in January, 1992.
