Santa Monica : Arts Funding Available
The city’s Cultural Affairs Division has $25,000 to give to art.
It seeks to distribute it to local nonprofit arts organizations, which have until Nov. 1 to make their request.
The Community Arts Grants are available for programs that offer widespread public access to cultural material, with an emphasis on reaching audiences that don’t normally have access to such programs.
This year, for instance, grants ranging from $735 to $9,600, supported programs ranging from free play matinees for senior citizens to functional art workshops for children in the Pico Neighborhood.
Two workshops offering assistance in the application process are set for Sept. 29 and Oct. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Ken Edwards Center, 1527 4th St.
Information and applications are available from the Cultural Affairs Division office in Suite 106 at Santa Monica City Hall. (310) 458-8350.
