RAP AROUND: Don’t look for Snoop Doggy Dogg’s debut album--the most eagerly awaited rap collection of the fall--to hit the stores next week as scheduled. The album, tentatively titled “Doggy Style,” is now scheduled for October release. The reason: The 21-year-old Long Beach rapper is still working on the album with producer Dr. Dre. Meanwhile, Dre’s delayed “Chronic” tour--also featuring Snoop Doggy Dog, Run-DMC, Boss and Onyx--is apparently finally getting going, with a start planned for next Sunday. The tour is now expected in Southern California in October, with a date at the Greek Theatre being discussed. . . .

In other rap news, Ice Cube looks like the next pop star in line for his own multimedia company deal. Representatives of the L.A. rapper’s Street Knowledge company confirmed that negotiations are under way with Priority Records for a deal that would fund record and film projects for Cube, who has already shown his acting skills in “Boyz N the Hood” and is interested in writing and directing.
