Antonovich the Accessible
* I disagree wholeheartedly with Buzz magazine’s low rating of county Supervisor Mike Antonovich as reported in your Political Briefings column on Aug. 27.
Compared to other politicians, Supervisor Antonovich ranks right at the top of the list for me.
When I recently contacted a number of legislators to discuss a certain issue that I felt strongly about, the only officeholder who personally returned my call was Supervisor Antonovich.
I consider the accessibility of elected officials a significant factor when I go to the polls.
Unlike many other politicians, Supervisor Antonovich is truly responsive to his constituents. If the West Los Angeles magazine that chastised him had used a more effective mode of investigation, the “buzz” would have come out quite different.
