Darryl Strawberry said Thursday that he is not ready to talk about his arrest Saturday or the events since. “There will come a time that I will talk, but it’s a couple of weeks away,” he said.
Strawberry has been in contact with Brett Butler, and plans to meet with him soon, perhaps today. “I’ve talked with Darryl,” Butler said, “but that’s all I am going to say.”
The Dodgers, who have distanced themselves from Strawberry since he was arrested for alleged assault on his girlfriend, have said that Strawberry’s future as a Dodger will be decided through the judicial system.
But indications are that Strawberry’s girlfriend will not pursue charges, which would eventually kick the decision back to the Dodgers.
Strawberry resumed his rehabilitation therapy for his surgically repaired back Wednesday at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Inglewood.
