Boy Seriously Injured in Hit-And-Run
A 7-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident Sunday night as he rode his bicycle near his home in the 14700 block of Delano Street, authorities said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Presbyterian Hospital in Van Nuys, police said. Emergency room workers told a police officer, who asked not to be identified, that the boy had no heartbeat when he was brought to the hospital after the 8:40 p.m. accident.
Police closed off the street to conduct a search for the car, which was described as a white or black and yellow Buick Regal, said Sgt. Glenn Wiggins of the Los Angeles Police Department.
“We have no good witnesses to this accident at this time,” Wiggins said.
