COLLEGE FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Miller Back After Suspension
Linebacker Jamir Miller is eligible to play Saturday against Nebraska after a one-game suspension imposed by the university following his no-contest plea to charges of receiving stolen property. Miller led the Bruins in sacks last season. Watching UCLA lose to California, 27-25, on Sept. 4, he said, was difficult.
âIâm from Oakland, and I probably know half the players on the team, so Iâm going to hear about it,â said Miller, as the Bruins prepare to play the Cornhuskers at the Rose Bowl.
Coach Terry Donahue calls Miller the Bruinsâ best defensive player.
âJamirâs an impact player, and there are only a few guys who are impact players,â Donahue said. âGaston Green was an impact player. Troy Aikman was an impact player. Kenny Norton was an impact player. Jamir Miller (is) an impact player.â

The UCLA depth chart lists freshman Skip Hicks as the starting tailback. Daron Washington has a sprained left ankle. Donahue said he hopes Washington will be able to play against Nebraska. . . .Derek Ayers, recovering from a hip injury, is listed as the No. 2 tailback. . . . Also injured are Sharmon Shah, who might be able to play, Bryan Adams, who is not expected to.
