BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJORS : No Charges to Be Filed Against Bonds
Associated Press
Criminal charges won’t be filed against San Francisco Giant outfielder Barry Bonds, whose wife told police he kicked her and shoved her down stairs at their home last month. Prosecutors said Wednesday they had no physical evidence and that Bonds’ wife, Sun, chose not to cooperate with investigators after the Aug. 24 incident in Atherton.
“On the basis of the police report, there’s no evidence to file charges,” Steve Wagstaffe of the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office said. “She wanted intervention from police and didn’t want it to go any further.”
