Santa Clarita / Antelope Valley : Cable Outage Disrupts Clinton’s Address

Share

Jones Intercable viewers will have a second chance to watch President Clinton’s address on health care reform after a power outage interrupted cable service during the live broadcast.

The cable company, which provides service to about 68,000 Antelope Valley households, had a major electrical problem during Clinton’s address Wednesday night. The cable system went down intermittently between 5:55 p.m., just five minutes before the President’s speech began, and 6:35 p.m. All Jones Intercable customers in the Antelope Valley were affected.

Clinton’s address can be seen in its entirety on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. on C-SPAN, Channel 20, and Jones’ preview station, Channel 10.

“It is unfortunate that these outages occur at such inopportune times,” John (Woody) Hutton, general manager of the cable firm’s Antelope Valley operation, said in a release. “However, problems of this nature give no forewarning.”
