LA PALMA : New Bids Sought for Central Park Work

Share

The City Council authorized reopening the bidding process for its Central Park renovation project this week after all nine bids it received exceeded the funds allocated for the extensive project.

The city has earmarked $642,000 for the renovation project, which will include construction of an amphitheater, gazebo and group picnic area at the park at 7821 Walker St. The lowest bid submitted to the city was $103,000 over the project’s budget.

City officials were unable to say how long renewing the bidding process would delay the project, which has been in the planning stages for two years. Officials originally had hoped to begin the six-month project by November.
