A Triple for Carey

Share

Mariah Carey’s “Music Box” album must be sweet music for her fans. She’s ruling three of the Times’ Southern California charts--both pop and R&B; album as well as pop singles with “Dreamlover.” Garth Brooks’ “In Pieces” slipped a notch on the pop album chart to No. 2 but it’s still the big leader on the country chart. Also, it’s pulling his old “No Fences” back into the Top 10--to No. 9. “Barney’s Favorites Vol. 1” will continue to be a hot seller in the kiddie album market but it didn’t last long in the pop Top 20, dropping off after entering at No. 10.
