BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : DODGERS : Martinez’ Second-Half Woes Continue

Ramon Martinez is 3-7 with four no-decisions and a 3.09 ERA since the All-Star break. Before the break, he was 7-4 with a 3.21 ERA. The Dodgers have scored three runs or fewer in nine of Martinez’ last 14 outings. Martinez was relieved in the sixth inning Sunday by Omar Daal with the Astros leading, 3-1, and runners on first and second base. Daal walked in the Astros’ fourth run.

In the eighth inning, the Dodgers’ Kip Gross gave up his first run in 12 innings of relief. Mark Portugal (17-4) extended his winning streak to a major league-high 11 games. He has not lost since July 7.
