PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Everett’s Rating Improves to 22nd

Jim Everett, the lowest-rated passer in the NFL the past two weeks, moved into 22nd place in the league’s passing-efficiency rankings after Sunday’s 316-yard, three-touchdown performance against Houston.

Everett has completed 68 of 131 passes (51.9%) for 847 yards and five touchdowns with six interceptions for a rating of 65.9. The Jets’ Boomer Esiason leads the NFL with a rating of 111.5.

Wide receiver Mario Bailey and punters Tim Kalal and Ed Bunn worked out for the Rams on Tuesday. Bailey was member of the University of Washington’s 1991 national championship team. Kalal has played for Buffalo and New England, and for Atlanta last season. Bunn was drafted in the third round by the Washington Redskins, who released him before the regular season began. . . . Henry Ellard became the 13th NFL player to catch 550 passes for more than 9,000 yards after six receptions for 132 yards against the Oilers. Ellard has 551 receptions for 9,129 yards.
