LOS ANGELES : Councilwoman Goldberg on 6-Day Trip to Armenia

Los Angeles City Councilwoman Jackie Goldberg left Wednesday for a six-day visit to Armenia at the invitation of a major relief organization.
Goldberg, who is joining 13 educators and community leaders from Hollywood and North Hollywood, said the trip is aimed at learning firsthand about the country’s culture, economy and politics. Led by the Armenian General Benevolent Union of North America, the delegation will visit schools and earthquake-damaged areas and attend the graduation of the first class of the University of California’s Armenian-American Graduate School in Engineering.
“This will be an educational tour,” said Goldberg, who noted that she will pay for the trip from her own pocket.
