NO PRIZE-WINNER

Concerning your inexplicable naming of David Brock’s book on “The Real Anita Hill,” for a Los Angeles Times Book Prize:
Had you bothered to familiarize yourselves with the straightforward expose appearing in the May 24 issue of The New Yorker last spring, you would surely not have given this derogatory book any further consideration.
The article thoroughly documents the half truths, distortions, outright falsehoods and political polemic which characterized Brock’s so-called research.
The book, in short, is a disgrace to genuine scholarship and clearly does not deserve a place on your prize list, let alone in anyone’s library.
I recommend you look up The New Yorker article promptly and rethink your position on this book.
