Los Angeles police Monday identified a man they said had burglarized more than 200 San Fernando Valley homes by sneaking in when the residents were asleep.

Police said they were seeking the public’s help to locate Eric Ross Baer, 30, who grew up in the Valley and was evicted from a Balboa Boulevard apartment in August.

Baer, who operates almost exclusively between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., prefers burglarizing homes by entering from the back yard, and often gets in through garages, open windows or by removing window screens, Detective Joe Jordan said.

Police describe Baer as a white man with curly or disheveled brown hair and green eyes, standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 145 pounds. In the past, he has worn his hair from collar to shoulder length and had a mustache.

He has also lived in Las Vegas during the past two years, police said.

During burglaries, Baer takes small items including purses, wallets, food, jewelry, cameras, CDs and handguns, Jordan said.

Baer, who is wanted on felony charges, is considered armed and dangerous and civilians should not confront him, police said. Police asked that anyone with information about Baer call officers at (213) 485-2524 or (213) 485-3261.
