PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Harrison Makes Point With NFL

Share

Raider defensive tackle Nolan Harrison lost his cool and some playing time. But he won his point.

NFL officials have decided not to fine Harrison for shoving umpire Dennis Riggs during an argument last weekend in the fourth quarter of a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. While protesting a ruling that he had failed to recover a fumble by the Chiefs, Harrison made contact with Riggs, resulting in Harrison’s ejection.

“I just put my hands on him,” Harrison said, “you know, like when you’re just talking to someone.”

The game film apparently validated Harrison’s point.

A radio reporter asked Rocket Ismail in Kansas City last week: “Did it seem different out there with Vince Evans at quarterback?”

The Raider rookie receiver, who made his NFL debut last Sunday, simply shook his head.

“It didn’t seem different to me,” he said. “I’ve never been out there before.”
