Not Everyone Can Do It

The hot hip album on the Times’ Southern California pop album chart is “Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can’t We?,” by Ireland’s the Cranberries. Featuring the quirky, Sade-like vocals of Dolores O’Riordan, it moved up four notches to No. 8. Tag Team’s stranglehold on the top spot of the pop singles chart, with “Whoomp! (There It Is),” is being challenged by three singles that have come from nowhere in the last few weeks: Zhane’s “Hey Mr. D.J.” (No. 2), Ace of Base’s “All That She Wants” (No. 3) and Xscape’s “Just Kickin’ It” (No. 8).
