Cameron Reynolds rushed for three touchdowns and Oregon State’s inexperienced backup quarterbacks led the Beavers to 669 yards Saturday in a 42-7 victory over Pacific.

Oregon State Coach Jerry Pettibone’s quarterback worries were unwarranted in this game When starter Ian Shields left the game in the second quarter after aggravating a sprained ankle, redshirt freshman Rahim Muhammad and freshman Adrian Woodson guided the Beavers (3-3) to four more touchdowns.

Muhammad ran 63 yards on the third play of the second half to put the Beavers at Pacific’s one-yard line and set up his scoring pass to tight end Ray Penniman. Muhammad’s conversion run gave the Beavers a 28-7 lead.

Oregon State’s Chad Paulson opened the scoring in the first quarter with a two-yard run that capped an eight-play, 76-yard drive. Fullback John Young set up the touchdown with a 17-yard run up the middle.

Pacific (4-4) struck back early in the second quarter as Stanley Green rushed 29 yards to the Oregon State one. Daryl Rogers scored two plays later for the Tigers’ only points.

Oregon State held Pacific to 170 yards and intercepted three of quarterback Craig Whelihan’s passes. Whelihan wsa 17 of 36 for 115 yards.
